I'm standing in the Hall of Monuments right now with a Tyrian born character and I've got a Broken Flute and a tapestry shred in my inventory.

Nothing is happening, despite claims that doing this will kick off a dialogue with Gwen followed by a quest.

Do I have to do some little jig, have some special armor on, be ascended, be a certain amount of the way through GW:EN, or ...?

Bummer! I have that Tapestry Shred in my storage but I brought my Rit through GW:EN first. Oh well... the Tyrian Necro is next in line.

Toss the flute, it doesn't do anything. As for the shred, until you complete the main Vanguard quest, you won't get more then a simple dialogue saying you should ask again after you're done with the Vanguard quest.

Think you can get her other quest with the flute. Or at least I was carrying it and about 12 red iris flowers, a preserved red iris and the shred when I got both my quests.

You will not get jack until you complete the Ebon Vanguard quest line. Then go back and talk with GWEN at the HOM with that stuff in your inventory.

To get the quest all you need is a Red Iris flower, and they can be found all over the Char lands.

The reward from the quest is a nice Mesmer offhand, nothing really special mind you just a rose.

There's another quest which lead you back to Ascalon area itself, all of the Charrs will be lv20+. The objective of the quest is to free some certain character from the charrs. The reward is Gwen's flute itself, a green mesmer focus.

Too bad it has to be a Tyrian-borne character - a bit too esoteric for a game of this type.

Yeah but you know if that mod was valuable enough, some people are going to farm it with new tyrian chars.

In fact I might do that with my mule warrior so one of my non-tyrian chars can have the item.

i heard that you can only get One tapestry and it is customized to your char...
IMO the Rose and Flute should of been HCT 20% not 10% ...

I don't think that's true. I have 3 Tyrian born characters and got shreds on all three. I threw out two because at the time I didn't want to use up my precious storage space with them. One I did save. When I last looked, which was yesterday, I don't recall it being customized.

Although remember that if you're going to get a tapestry shred from Pre-Sear, don't bother getting the resurrection signet first, or going outside of the outposts with another player. The reason being that if the player in your party has already given the items to little Gwen, she'll already have them on her person and you'll never get the shred.

Just a word of caution.

LOL - no - the shred is not customised - it is a stackable item. I had 3 in my inventory for a very long time. Gave one to a guildie to do this quest as I really only have 2 active Prophecies characters nowadays.
